Takayama Festival Tour - Cherry Blossom in Takayama - Mid April

Cherry Blossom Tour - Most Beautiful Festival in Japan

Takayama Festival Tour takes you to the deep mountain village of Takayama during cherry blossom time to join one of the most beautiful festivals of Japan, which is held annually on April 14th and 15th. The festival makes you feel as if you have time slipped back to the 15th Century, because of costumes and music performance of the festival, and the traditional townscape of Takayama. The journey tours to Tokyo from Japan’s ancient capital of Kyoto through mountain villages of Honshu, where you rarely see hidden, shadow side of Japan. When you reach Tokyo, you feel the energy of the city, far away from calm countryside of Japan and go out for a night. 【Movie】Takayama Festival

Shirakawago is famous for its traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses which are more than 250 years old. Gassho-zukuri means "constructed like hands in prayer", as the farmhouses' steep thatched roofs resemble the hands of Buddhist monks pressed together in prayer. The architectural style developed over many generations and is designed to withstand the large amounts of heavy snow that falls in the region during winter. Afterwards, we will visit Takayama. The main event here is definitely the Takayama Festival, ranked as one of Japan's three most beautiful festivals. At Yomatsuri (evening festival), we will see the Karakuri Performance consisting of floats decorated with karakuri ningyo, sophisticated mechanical dolls that can move and dance.
