Tokyo Quilt Festival Tour 2015

Travel Japan one stitch at a time

Travel Japan one stitch at a time with this incredible fully escorted tour stopping at important areas relating to stitch art. We will join the 14th annual Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival that is being held in Tokyo Dome.

This quilt festival is the largest in the world, attracting over 2.8 million people each year. You will see numerous quilts with unique stitching, arrays of color patterns, and styles. At the convention, there are courses of quilting for beginners to the more advanced. The tour continues in Tokyo stopping at Nippori Textile Town and Harajuku to check out the latest fashion and styles.

Following the patchwork of history, we will head towards Kyoto stopping at Atami and Nagoya for an interesting look at Japanese traditional crafts like a visit to Kubota Itchiku Museum, dedicated to Tsujigahana pattern style of Kimono. In Kyoto, we will break the fabric of time to visit old beautiful landmarks like the Golden Pavilion and Kiyomizu Temple that were built hundreds of years ago.

This tour is ideal for quilt lovers or those who want to learn the art of embroidery. You can also extend your vacation before/ after the tour in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.
